Diploma Program Focuses on College-Level Independent Research, Collaborative Teamwork, and Communication and Writing Skills Crucial for College and Career Success.
DCS is among the top schools in the nation in student growth according to a national study.
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
Grit will define us. You will get nothing more than you settle for and nothing less than you can live without. Dyersburg City Schools will provide the best opportunity for you to develop your Grit.
Consider the following:
6th highest academic growth in grades 3 - 8 in the nation
Top 10% ACT average in Tennessee
Top 10% College Readiness in Tennessee
National leader in Early Lit
Those results are due to a faculty and staff that can compare to any in the nation, paired with a community that believe in and supports public education, family support and students with Grit. Dyersburg City Schools is making a difference.
What is next? How do we continue to improve? Dyersburg City Schools is committed to improve our rigor, standards, opportunities and expectations. Beginning in 2019, we will offer Spanish for every student in grades K-12. We continually expand our Career and Technical offerings. Our Advanced Placement programs continually improve. We expand our extracurricular activities.
It’s a great year to be a Trojan! Make the best of it.
