Dyersburg Middle School Beta Club was established on August 15, 1983. Our club currently has 111 members. To be eligible for Beta Club, students must maintain Honor Roll status or a semester average of 93. Service is a key component of our club, and each member must complete three hours of community service. This past year, our club completed over 950 hours of community service helping organizations such as Feed the Need and Salvation Army. Students also helped their own churches and organizations of interest. Beta members also contributed to our school by coordinating the annual Reason for the Season food drive, maintaining the clothes closet, and supporting the teachers at the Back to School Bash. Each year Beta students prepare for competition at the Tennessee State Beta Convention. Convention allows students to showcase their academic achievements, artistic creativity, critical thinking skills, and collaborative teamwork in Book Battle, Tower of Power, Quiz Bowl, and many other competitions. This past Convention DMS finished first in Large Group Performing Arts: Allie Dormer placed fourth in 7th Grade Language Arts, and Abby Borden finished fifth in 7th Grade Math.
Dyersburg Middle School was honored as a 2018 National Beta School of Merit for our dedication to academic excellence, leadership development, and commitment to student achievement.
