    ***October 27th –No School for Teacher inservice day.
    Basketball team and Club pictures will be taken the morning of Nov. 14th. Basketball players need to be prepared to change into their complete uniforms, including footwear, for the pictures.
    DMS 7th & 8th Grade Christmas Dance
    Our Christmas Dance for 7th and 8th grade students will be on Friday, December 1st. In order to attend, a student must NOT receive more than 3 office referrals (major or minor) for this 9 week period.
    If you get the 4th office referral, you will not be allowed to attend the dance.
    Library News
    The cut off for AR incentives will be Tuesday, October 24, at 2.00. October AR incentive day will be Thursday, October 26. This will be the only day to receive your incentives. Please check for your name on the list and come to the library during your lunch. Teachers will receive the list of students earning this incentive on Wednesday, October 25.
    Overdue notices will be printed on Tuesday, October 24 at 2:00. Please renew or return your books before that time.
    Pumpkin Decorating Contest
    Student council is sponsoring a pumpkin decorating contest! All entries are due Monday, October 30th. First place will win a $50 gift card. All pumpkins must be decorated, NOT CARVED. See Mrs. Hatch or Mrs. Holden for the details.
    Beta Club
    You will have skit practice Sunday night from 7-8:30. Enter and Exit through the gym doors. See Mrs. Lay with any questions.
    Cross Country
    Good luck to our Cross Country girls: Anna Fisher, Addie Hurt, Jasmin Olvera, Chloe Sanders, Anna Staggs, and Anna-Claire Wright! They are heading to Knoxville today to compete in the Tennessee State Championship tomorrow!!
    Girls’ Basketball
    Will meet in the gym after school today to get uniforms. We will be finished by 345 at the latest.
    YMCA Volleyball
    Tha YMCA of Dyer County is having a youth volleyball league. Girls 2nd grade-8th grade can sign up at the YMCA by October 30th. Any girl interested can stop by the DMS office for an information sheet. Any questions can call the Y at 288-9622.
    Newspaper Club
    The November meeting of Newspaper Club has been cancelled due to a conflict. The next meeting is Dec. 4th.
    You may also order online at There have been several times that we have sold out of yearbooks. The only way to guarantee that your child receive a yearbook is to preorder one, so take advantage of the sale price and preorder today.
    Yearbook staff: You may stay after school to work on your spreads the next several Wednesdays, from 3:00 - 4:30 in the yearbook room. Yearbook time is available the following dates: , Oct. 11, Oct. 18, and Oct. 25. Please come to a work session if you have work to do on your spread

    Trojans of the Week
    Team 6B would like to congratulate our TOW Lili. Lili is an outstanding student who is one of the first students on our team to make her AM and AR goals. Lili is given many jobs on our team because she is very responsible and does things with excellence. Lili walks into Team 6B each morning with a pleasant smile and kind words for her teachers and classmates. We are so proud of you, Lili!!! Keep up the amazing work!
    Team 7B's Trojan of the Week nomination is an exceptional young man who gives his best every day, in every class. He is a member of the DMS football team, Beta Club, and sings in the DMS Choir.
    His peers say he is quiet, funny, and nice. His teachers say he is top notch, focused, goal oriented, and a deep thinker. His football coach said says he is brave, always seeking to improve, and a team player.
    This young man is intelligent, well rounded, and is an important part of team 7B. Congratulations Grayson for receiving Trojan of the Week.
    8B is proud to award Breanna as Trojan of the Week. Breanna participates in many organizations including cheerleading and basketball. Her organizational skills, along with determination to achieve in academics are a must at DMS, and she certainly exhibits these qualities. Breanna is willing to do whatever is asked and goes above and beyond what is expected. She is a reliable student whether helping another student or completing a task given by her teachers, you can depend on her to accomplish the goal. Congratulations, Breanna, for receiving Trojan of the Week!! 8B is proud to have you on our team!!!
