Welcome to Dyersburg City Schools!
Dyersburg is a community located in Dyer County in northwestern Tennessee. The Dyersburg City School System has a reputation of providing a quality education for the children of the Dyersburg/Dyer County community for more than 175 years. Since the first small, log schoolhouse was built on College Hill in 1833, our system has grown to include Dyersburg Primary School for grades K-2, Dyersburg Intermediate School for grades 3-5, Dyersburg Middle School for grades 6-8, Dyersburg High School for grades 9-12 and the Community Resource Center. The fact that all of the schools in the Dyersburg City School System are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools exemplifies our use of national benchmarks to improve the quality of education for students at all grade levels.
The school system employs over 400 persons, with more than 250 of that number being classroom teachers. All teachers are licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education. In addition, almost 60 percent of our teachers have achieved their master's and/or doctorate degrees. We hope you enjoy your visit and will come back often.
